Position Summary

Under the leadership and direction of the department Director, Primary Health, the Program Manager, Pharmacy has primary day-to-day management of the Pharmacy including human resources, program management and development, financial accountability and quality and innovation. The Program Manager, Pharmacy works with Mount Carmel Clinic (MCC) management to align programs and services with client needs, integrate services within and outside MCC and encourage teamwork and collaboration across all MCC departments.

 

The Program Manager, Pharmacy is responsible for the provision of professional pharmaceutical and the administration and overall operation of the pharmacy. This includes reviewing all pharmacy operations for compliance with current policies, laws, and regulations governing the practice of pharmacy. Work involves establishing, formulating, implementing and reviewing procedures relating to pharmaceuticals; supervising pharmacists and technicians, and ensuring the program operates in accordance with the Pharmaceutical Act and its regulations. The incumbent must be able to function as the Senior Pharmacist as defined in the Act. In the absence of a Staff Pharmacist, all duties assigned to that position become the responsibility of the Manager, with direct patient care activities taking precedence over all other duties.

 

Salary

$48.897 – $61.048/hr

 

Qualifications

 Education

Holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Pharmacy

Registered and Licensed as a Pharmacist with the College of Pharmacists of Manitoba

 

Skills, Expertise and Experience

Minimum three (3) years direct service in a high volume pharmacy with good knowledge of pharmacy software programs
