Position Summary

 

The Finance Officer is responsible for general ledger accounting and general oversight of payroll and benefits administration and other finance functions. The Finance Officer prepares and delivers financial analyses and reports for internal and external audiences, including internal monthly financial statements. The Finance Officer is the senior finance staff member reporting to the Director of Operations and supports and assists the Director in the efficient and effective management of MCC’s financial resources.

 

Qualifications

 

Education

Post-secondary education in an accounting program (comparable to students enrolled in the CPA Preparatory Courses)

Post-secondary education in payroll and benefits administration or comparable work experience

 

Skills, Expertise and Experience

Minimum of four (4) years’ experience in general ledger financial accounting

Direct experience using computerized accounting and information systems (Great Plains) and spreadsheets

Proven knowledge and ability in critical thinking, decision-making and problem-solving skills

Experience in Great Plains accounting software
