Position Summary

The Dental Receptionist is responsible for administering day-to-day activities of the dental department, including maintenance of the records of the patients, scheduling, and accounts receivable

 

Qualifications

Education

Graduate from a recognized medical assistant training program, such as Clinic Office Assistance, Health Care Aide and/or Medical Records Technician

 

Service Delivery Skills, Expertise and Experience

Minimum two years’ experience as a Dental Receptionist or Medical Clerk

Must possess excellent interpersonal skills and telephone etiquette, accurate record keeping skills and be detail oriented

Ability to communicate well with the public where language and other socio-cultural factors may present barriers to accessing service

Proven knowledge and ability in critical thinking, decision-making, problem-solving and conflict resolution skills

Demonstrated ability to prioritize and focus work-related activities to effectively and efficiently achieve service goals and produce expected results/outcomes
