Position Summary


Anne Ross Day Nursery is a 48 space licensed preschool and 16 space infant site.  ARDN is a highly inclusive early learning facility that has a renovated infrastructure to support the success of all children at all developmental levels.  We are a unique program that provides a hot lunch for the children who attend at no additional cost to the family. Our priority is to enhance children’s overall health, wellness and development through nutrition for the first five years as part of our regular program.


The Child Care Assistant (CCA), as part of a team of Early Childhood Educators and CCAs, delivers child-specific, age appropriate programming to all children in the program in accordance with child development principles. The CCA implements plans and provides programming designed to meet each child’s assessed needs in a manner that promotes positive social, physical, emotional and cognitive development. The CCA maintains a clean and safe environment that encourages healthy interaction and learning.




Child Care Assistant Classification from the Manitoba Child Care Program

Current Infant/Child First Aid and CPR Certificate

Completion of 40-hour “Introduction to Early Childhood Care and Education” – Red River College or on line

Demonstrated understanding of child care approaches and principles and ability to put that understanding into practice

Proven knowledge and ability in critical thinking, decision-making, problem-solving and conflict resolution skills
